Think back to your most recent experience with school. I’m betting you had a set schedule, with classes you had to attend at a certain time on a given day—or else. If you got sick or had a family emergency, you were responsible for making up the missed material. Your grades might have suffered if you couldn’t attend every class.

There’s a huge problem with learning this way: It doesn’t work for most people. Old-fashioned school doesn’t take into account that students have lives outside of class, that things come up, that real people need flexibility. That’s why we designed a better way to learn—and to get trained for a great tech job.

You can learn part-time if you have a limited number of hours to take classes. You can learn full-time if you can dedicate a lot of time to learning. We’re offering more live instruction than ever, plus a library of on-demand video lessons, so you can continue your learning literally any time.

You get to decide how fast or slow to move through the material—so BloomTech works on your schedule, no matter what that schedule is. 

Truly flexible courses

Unlike just about every other school or bootcamp, at BloomTech, you don’t have to choose a full-time or part-time course. 

Wait, what? Didn’t we just say that you can learn part-time or full-time?

Yes! That’s because BloomTech courses are flexible, allowing you to take classes, practice your skills, and get support on any schedule. 

Most schools are like a train: You buy a ticket and get on, moving at a set speed—regardless of whether that’s a good speed for you. BloomTech is more like a customizable tour bus. You can go slower or faster as needed. You can circle back to a site you visited earlier. You can speed through one area, then slow down and really soak in another destination.

Learn when it works for you

Whether or not you own a Peloton bike or tread, you’re probably familiar with this fitness phenomenon. The idea behind Peloton is that you get a stationary bike or treadmill for your home, then join live or recorded classes.

You can think about BloomTech like that, except instead of strengthening your muscles, you’re strengthening your skills to launch a tech career.

With BloomTech, you can choose from live courses offered 7 days a week, including evenings. When you join is up to you. No matter what sprint you’re working through, you can find multiple live classes that will teach you the skills you need, every week.

Your course curriculum also includes on-demand lessons, which you can watch and learn from any time. These are comparable to the recorded classes on Peloton. Just like BloomTech’s live sessions, our on-demand classes are led by experts, are interactive, and teach you what you need for your future tech job. Again, you get to choose when to learn.

You’ll always know what to learn next

Let’s extend the fitness idea further. The comparison to Peloton helps you understand how flexible our courses are. We don’t stop there, though. We guide you every step of the way—like a personal trainer.

In the fitness world, a personal trainer designs a workout routine that helps you reach your goals. When you work with a personal trainer, you never get to the gym unsure of what you should do. BloomTech is like that, too. 

You’re never left wondering, “How will I know what classes to take?” Your course dashboard knows exactly where you are in the curriculum, and you can see at a glance what is required to move forward. All the classes and projects in a sprint teach you the skills to pass the sprint challenge and assessment, so you can move on to the next sprint. 

Some classes are recorded and available to watch any time; others are offered live multiple times a week so you can take them at your convenience. We strongly encourage you to attend them, but attendance is not required. You get to decide if and when you want to attend. (Plus you can retake classes as many times as you like!) 

The bottom line: You’ll always know what to work on next. It’s up to you when you learn.  

Learning at BloomTech part-time

We designed this new approach to online learning in part because of how many people wanted to join BloomTech—but couldn’t make a rigid full-time schedule work. Maybe that’s you, too. You might be

Learning at BloomTech full-time

When you think of a full-time program, you probably imagine traditional—and outdated—school schedules. In the old way, you’d sign up for a class and be tied to it for a whole semester. If you missed a class, you’d be on your own to figure out the material you missed, or even be at risk for failing the class. If you wanted to move faster, you were stuck. No accelerating through the syllabus: You had to go at a predetermined pace.

If this rigid schedule doesn’t work for you, you’re not alone. That’s why at BloomTech, we empower you to move through our courses at a speed that you want, on a schedule that works for you.

Let’s say you want to gain the skills necessary for your dream tech career ASAP. You can dedicate the time to taking classes throughout the week, building projects, and completing assignments. With our flexible courses, nothing is holding you back.

At BloomTech, your progress is competency-based, meaning you'll move forward as soon as you fully understand the material and can apply your newly learned skills to real world projects. You can move through sprints as quickly as you can gain the necessary skills.

In fact, if you’re joining BloomTech with some coding skills already, you may be able to progress even faster. Since our curriculum is competency-based, you could go straight to the sprint challenge and assessment, which gauge your understanding of the sprint’s content, without taking all the sprint’s classes. (Remember, attendance is strongly recommended but not required.) That way, you’re not “forced” to sit through classes covering material you already understand. You can go straight to the topics you need to learn.
